 Founder and Director, Ann E. McHorney, has 20 years in the Yacht Charter Industry, with experience as a Charter Sales Specialist for a prestigious Ft. Lauderdale firm, as a crew member on both sail and motor yachts ranging from 40 to 170 feet, and as a former owner of a charter yacht. Acting as a Charter Specialist for Select Yachts, Ann E delights in her efforts of matching charter clients with the right yachts and crews. Years of working as charter crew have provided Ann E. with lots of cruising time in fabulous destinations. She has traveled the East Coast of the US from Maine to the Dry Tortugas, the Great Lakes, the Bahamas, and the entire Caribbean from the Dominican Republic to Venezuela and the ABC's. Mediterranean travels include Spain and the Balearics, the French and Italian Rivieras, Corsica, Sardinia, Sicily, Greece, and Croatia. With first hand knowledge of the delights and attractions to be found along the way, Ann E. is the perfect person to assist in planning a dream yachting vacation and VIP yacht rentals. Having a degree in Restaurant Management, studies at Cordon Bleu in Paris, and a Graduate Gemologist diploma, Ann E can advise on great shopping and dining too!
Ann E has chosen St. Maarten as her home and the site for Select Yachts, as she sees it as the up and coming location for the Charter Yacht Industry. "The number and quality of the yachts that arrive here for the season just gets better and better. St Maarten has a new modern airport with direct flights from the US, Canada, South America, France, The Netherlands, and other European countries, it's an easy place to fly into, plus there is great provisioning for that gourmet food served on charter. Mr. Ariel Weiss further enhances the Select Yachts crew. He is a multi-talented international individual. His broad range of experience entails owning and operating a FBO (Fixed Base Operator) air charter company-flight School, as well as having worked as an event planner for 11 years. He has a creative and visionary aptitude, combined with attention to detail and excellent communication and negotiation skills. Ariel has studied Business Management, Communication, Advertising and Marketing; is a Commercial Licensed Pilot, Certified Flight and Ground Instructor with an Aeronautical Science Degree.
A native of Manhattan in New York, Ariel has lived in Los Angeles, The Turks and Caicos Islands, Israel, Arizona, London, and Sint Maarten. His travels and experience entail working for celebrities and film makers as pilot, personal assistant and planning high visibility events worldwide.

Keeping the Select Yachts busy office organized is Elaine Christopher’s domain. She holds an honors degree with a major in geography, and has many years experience in both customer service and tourism. She has traveled extensively and sailed a wide variety of waters, including the western Pacific, south east Asia, the Caribbean, eastern USA, northern Europe and the Atlantic. Elaine was born in England and had been around the world 4 times by the time she was 12 years of age.
She arrived in St. Martin five years ago to buy her own yacht and go sailing again, but the island stole her heart and she now calls it home.
Elaine has forged strong links with the luxury yacht industry during the past few years. In addition to crewing, she worked in the marine services sector in both marina management and charter management for a well known company based in St Maarten. Elaine is the organizer of the yacht crew twilight sailing races held weekly in St. Maarten during the winter season. As a previous owner of a successful guest house for 5 years, she has an understanding of fine hospitality and accommodations. She is confident, resourceful and adaptable, has a great sense of humor and a cheerful disposition. |
